This page is the extreme element of my identity. The background is a picture of the Sydney skyline taken from the balcony of my apartment. I put up a picture of myself bungy jumping at the Nevis in New Zealand. It was over 140 meters. I put up another picture of people skydiving, which I did in Cairnes. And the bottom picture is one of myself and my friends riding an elephant in Thailand.

This page is about my school identity. The background is a picture of the University of Sydney, which is where I'm currently studying for this semester. At home in the U.S., I go to Ramapo College of New Jersey. I put up a picture of the Ramapo mascot which is a roadrunner.

This page is about my work life. I have done various financial internships. The background is of the bull, which is located on wall street in New York City. The bull is one of the most recognizable symbols of Wall Street. This summer I'll be working at a hedge fund in New Jersey, with hopes of working on Wall Street full time after I graduate school.

This is the second page of my website. It is the about my home (the US), which is a big part of my identity. The background is of New York City, which is very close to where I live. I also put up a picture of New Jersey, which is where I live. Then I put the logos of the New York Yankees and the New York Jets up, which are my favorite sports teams. To change the look of all the grapics I used the filter gallery.

Home Page

This is the homepage for my identity website. I chose one of my favorite ferrari's as the main part of the homepage because a ferrari enzo has many dimensions, just like my identity does. I used one of the options from the filter gallery to change up the look of the car.

Working on the final project

I have been working on the final project for some time now. Ive added some interesting pictures to it along with a few other features. I've incorporated different parts of my life into this website, such as school, work, travel, etc. I've also used various fonts and animations to add another element to my website. I edited some pictures on my websites using photoshop to make them look more interesting.

Backgrounds

I found a great website with some backgrounds that would be useful when creating my website. It is http://www.deviantart.com/. People make their own art and backgrounds using photoshop and other programs and then submit them to this website. You can buy some of the artists' work or you can use some of them for free.

Flash

Last class, I learned flash. Flash allows me to become creative with different animations, which will help improve my website that I will be making for my final project. Another benefit of using flash is that I can do animations with text which will make everything on the website more visually stimulating. I will be including a lot text animations in order to explain all the different aspects of my website. A cool website that uses flash is http://www.singularitydesign.com/. It is the website for a website design agency.

Week 6 Class

Today in class we did adjustment layering.  This allows the user to do all types of different things with fonts and text.  We also mixed images with text so that they are no longer plain and boring.  

Later today we will be meeting with another student to discuss our websites that are about our identity.  We will discuss how it meets the theme, how did I come about my ideas for this.  Also how will I express the theme visually.  I will discuss my interface or navigation style.

The website above is http://www.tiesto.com/. I will be using some parts from this website for my final project. Its a flash based website when the website first loads. You can choose to go to tiesto.com or the elements of life tour website. I chose tiesto.com here. It has a section at the top left that plays music while you are on the site and allows you to change the song. Then theres a bar with links further down on the page that takes you to the news section, schedule, artist, gallery, media, goodies, shop, e-shop, and interactive. Further down on the site it has news, links to more news, and links to videos on the site.

Art or Design

The website that I choose to discuss whether it is art or design is http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/21/. It is the official website for the movie 21, which is about Ben Campbell who is a brilliant M.I.T. student who needs to pay his school tuition and does so by playing cards. He is recruited to join a group of the schools most smartest students that heads to Vegas every weekend with fake identities and the knowledge to turn the odds at blackjack in their favor. With an unorthodox math professor and stats genius Micky Rosa leading them, they start making money, by counting cards and employing an complex system of signals, the team can beat the casinos big time. Ovewehlmed by the money, the Vegas lifestyle, and by his teammate, Jill Taylor, Ben begins to push the limits. Though counting cards isnt illegal, the stakes are high, and the challenge becomes not only keeping the numbers straight, but staying one step ahead of the casinos boss: Cole Williams. 21 is inspired by the true story of the very brightest young minds in the country and how they took Vegas for millions.

I believe that the website is more design with some art in it. The art part of the website is the mutliple layers that its comprised of from using flash. The design part is the top layer which allows the user to click on it and takes them to another part of the website. The other parts of the website are clips of the movie or short videos made for the website about the movie. This website is mostly design because it is made to get the user to another part. It is not all art because the user doesn't look at the website and try to interpret its meaning. The website has a purpose to it which is why it its design.

For my website, I will be writing about my experiences while abroad here in Sydney and surrounding countries. Before coming to Sydney, I spent about two weeks in New Zealand. While in New Zealand I did many things that I would have never thought about doing. I traveled from the North Island to the South Island. We started out in Auckland and then traveled to other areas such as Nelson and Rotorua. We ended our NZ trip in what became my favorite place, Queenstown. I bungi jumped in Queenstown from 134m in the Nevis. I also went zorbing and luging.
